SFCC will be running monthly events as part of a year-long speaker series between April 2022 and March 2023.

Each month, the Beyond Consent speaker series hosts grassroots activists and allies in the anti-violence movements in order to educate, inspire, and train new generations of leaders, communities, and organizations in the fight to end violence.

On March 29 at 10am PT / 1pm ET, join us for the LAST event of this 12-month series. Two former SFCC Chairs will lead a participatory discussion that collectivises dreams for care-based learning environments and futures without violence. An integral component of building these futures includes weaving them into the organizing we do today. We will identify the structures that allow dreaming and future-making to happen in current movements and will collectively dream about this work.

Reminder: Students attending this event are eligible to receive a micro-credential for their participation. For more information on this, the Outreach section of our website contains further information: https://www.sfcccanada.org/certificate-program.

If you’d like to join us, please register on the Eventbrite page!

As part of SFCC’s Beyond Consent speaker series, SFCC will be offering micro-credentials to supplement your resumes, CVs, and co-curricular records through the SFCC Certificate Program. Here’s how it works. SFCC will be running monthly events as part of a year-long speaker series between April 2022 and March 2023. We will be trialling a program that will allow you to gain certificates for participation in our events.

Tracking attendance

To earn a certificate, you will need to provide your full name and email address in the RSVP form for each event. Your contact information will be used to write and deliver your certificate. You may choose to attend our events anonymously, but we cannot provide certificates for anonymous participants.

You will earn one (1) certificate per speaker event attended. Events may vary in duration, but are expected to run between 1 and 2.5 hours. To verify your attendance and contact information, we will provide a short form during the event and check it against the RSVP form.

If you attend at least 8 of the 12 speaker events that we’ll be running, we’ll also include a Certificate of Completion for our program: that certificate will include short titles for all of the workshops you’ve attended.

Certificates

Our certificates will be delivered by email in PDF format within two (2) calendar weeks of completing a certificate. Certificates will include a certificate number for easy reference on platforms like LinkedIn.

References and post-workshop support

We believe in empowering students to do GBV work in the classroom, in the workplace, and beyond. Have an interview coming up? We will act as a reference by confirming your attendance and describing our workshops to your contact.

This service will be available until April 30th, 2023, unless otherwise extended. Please contact Jaleen Mackay (Coordinator@SFCCCanada.org) to access support. Please also ensure that you notify us prior to using us as a reference.
